Unprecedented prices of dry fruit

Islamabad: The dry fruit shops at the Aabpara Market are witnessing an unprecedented ramping up in prices of the dry fruit as the atmospheric temperature in the winter season is lowering day by day.
The wholesale price of Indian peanuts is Rs140 per kg while the rate of Parachinar peanuts is Rs190 per kg. Normal quality Iranian pistachio (unsalted) carries a wholesale price of Rs1,350 per kg while good quality is available at Rs1,600 per kg.
American almond’s wholesale price ranges from Rs1,100 to 1,200 per kg. Wholesale price of pine nuts (chilghoza) is Rs1,800 per kg last year. The wholesale price of Iranian cashew nuts (kajoo) ranges between Rs950 and 1,050 per kg.
Wholesale price of walnuts (akhrot) is Rs1,500 per kg while salted cashew nuts is available at Rs1,500 per kg. The price of pine nut is 2,400 per kg contrary to its somewhat lower prices at start of the last winter season. Dry dates are being sold between Rs160 and Rs190 per kg while peanut and Raisin are available at Rs300 per kg and Rs3,000 per kg respectively.
