SZIA students shine at UAE Day event

SZIA students shine at UAE Day event

Islamabad: Deviating from its 16 year-old tradition of celebrating the National Day of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in its own campus, the Sheikh Zayed International Academy (SZIA) observed the joyous occasion this year with a unique event arranged under the supervision of the UAE Embassy here at Serena the other day.
The Ambassador of UAE Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Alzaabi and the principal of SZIA Wafaa Abdul Ghaffar were prominent on the occasion.
Dressed up in national costumes, SZIA students sang the national anthems of UAE and Pakistan on stage, offered gifts and chocolates to guests, performed dances and exhibited their paintings about the UAE.
Wafaa Abdul Ghaffar reflected, “This is the best annual celebration that we had had to celebrate UAE Day.” The preparations, involvement and participation had grand flavour.
The students gave all their hearts out to face a big audience of at least 1,500 guests and stood confidently to sing and dance in front of ambassadors and delegations. “We wish all the leaders of the UAE a happy National Day and extend our thanks and appreciation to Hamad Al Zaabi for this trust and opportunity,” Wafaa concluded.
