Walk held to mark International Volunteer Day

PESHAWAR: A walk was held Tuesday to mark the International Volunteer Day and create awareness about volunteerism and its importance.
The Rescue 1122 Service had organised the walk in the provincial capital and other districts of the province.
Director General Rescue 1122 Service Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr Asad Ali said that the training wing of the service had so far provided training to over 100,000 volunteers to enable them to help the people in case of fire eruption and saving lives in an emergency.
He said that the service had established proper training wings in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Swat, Abbottabad and Dera Ismail Khan and were providing free trainings to government and private sector employees, students of schools, colleges, universities and others.
