Pakistan is blessingof Allah for Muslims of subcontinent: Mamnoon

Islamabad: The Riphah International University held its 12th Convocation at the Jinnah Convention Centre here on Saturday.
President of Pakistan and Patron of the Riphah International University Mamnoon Hussain presided over the convocation.
VC Riphah University Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmad, Chancellor Hassan Muhammad Khan, renowned scholar & scientist of Riphah Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Prof. Dr.GA Miana were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the president congratulated the students for stepping into practical life after a successful academic career. He said it is heartening for me to note that the Higher Education Commission has placed the Riphah International University at Second position in its ranking of the General Category Private Sector Universities. He added that Pakistan is a blessing of Allah for Muslims of the subcontinent who revealed to make it an exemplary country by creating a social setup free of exploitation and an example for the world to emulate. The country needs determined and ambitious young people like you for its development, progress and stability. He hoped the faculty and management of the university will continue their endeavour to make it an exemplary institution for others. He said it is also imperative to provide employment opportunities to young people. China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a blessing in this regard and our youth need to equip themselves with latest trends in science & technology, trade & industry to benefit from these emerging opportunities.
HEC Chairman Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed in his speech said, since its inception in 2002, Riphah has been progressively involved in imparting quality education and knowledge across all disciplines, due to which it has achieved 2nd position in private sector universities in general category. achieved during their education, to address the future challenges. He added that after 70 years of independence Pakistan needs a nation of unity and discipline. He highlighted that multiple factors of extremism have been prevailing among our academic institution over the last few years which needs to be eradicated at every cost. He said it’s the time of our young blood to work together as one nation for better future of our upcoming generations.
Chancellor Hassan Muhammad Khan, in his address reminded the students that acquisition of knowledge doesn’t end with the obtaining of a degree. It is a continuous process and with their hard work they should be able to coup with the new challenges in their practical life.
Earlier, Vice Chancellor Riphah International University, Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmed welcomed the chief guest and guests of honour at the convocation of the university. In his address he highlighted the university achievements since its inception. The latest of these achievements is the recognition of universities’ engineering programme at international level under the Washington Accord. He said Riphah University has also achieved landmark success obtaining APQN Quality Assurance Award for maintaining high standards of education and disciplines.
More than 900 graduates, postgraduates and PhD students of the university from various faculties including Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Management Sciences, Engineering and Applied Sciences, Computing, Social Sciences and Humanities, Basic Sciences, Media Science, Systems Engineering and Public Policy were awarded degrees at the convocation. 28 Zulfiqar Gold Medals and 55 Chancellor Gold Medals were awarded to the graduates and post graduates for obtaining top positions in the examinations and securing distinction for their best performance in the academic field in various disciplines.
