Ghazan Marri to return next month after 18 years

Ghazan Marri to return next month after 18 years

ISLAMABAD: Ghazan Marri, son of late Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri, has decided to return to country after 18 years in self-imposed exile.

"I have taken the decision and I would be back by next month," said Ghazan Marri while exclusively talking to The News from UAE by telephone. Ghazan's brother Harybyar Marri is founding head of defunct Balochistan Libration Army (BLA), which supports a sapratist movement in Balochistan and allegedly carry out sabotage activities in the province.

Ghazan himself is accused of Justice Nawaz Marri's murder in 1999 and facilitating banned militant organisation Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). He, however, has been disowning the outlawed group in the past. Since the murder of the Justice Marri, Ghazan left the country and to date he is in exile.

Marri said he would face the cases registered against him upon return to the country.  "My hands are clean; I've nothing to do with BLA," he said, adding, "I was wrongly booked in the murder case of Justice Nawaz Marri." He said that he would land in Karachi and would later visit his native area.

The exiled Baloch leader further said that he had no contact with Brahmdagh Bugti. When asked if he has signed any deal with the establishment he just said, "I am clean and ready to face any legal action if there is any complaint against me.” Ghazan has six brothers. One of his brother Balach died in Afghanistan at the age of 41 in 2007.
