Let us think about a man who once had a dream of starting a business. Now the thing that matters is his choice...

Assalamualikum Eddy,

I was recently reading Cabir Chaudhary’s book “Mahr-e- Nafseeyat ke diary” and was surprised to find out that as a child he had loved reading Us magazine. He wrote that his father worked at a hotel where the old newspaper would come for wrapping naans and he would take away all The News back home and read Us magazine from it. He also mentioned that his favourite part was Trust Us in which he would read the queries of people and try to solve them by writing in his notebook and then match it with what Guru had written. This got him into solving people’s problem and would even have inspired him to pursue it as a career. I think it’s a great privilege for your magazine and I am sure its inspiring a lot of young minds in many different ways.

THINK PAD

One day, or day one?

By Yashwant Kumar

It all depends on your choice, your decision and obviously on your actions.

Today, in the world’s population of 7.53 billion, surprisingly only 15 percent people stand and go for “Day one” and fulfil their dreams while others keep on waiting for that one day to arrive in vain.

Cheryl Richardson said, “Time is a gift that most of us take for granted.”I guess it’s true because what we are doing today is just devaluing the time we have and looking for that one day to come. We need to understand that time doesn’t wait for anyone; it’s we, who have to get into that time and make everything happen that we want to.

Let us think about a man who once had a dream of starting a business. Now the thing that matters is his choice: to wait for that one day or make that day, day one - the very first day to take the first step to accomplish his dream. If he just decides to wait for that ‘one day’ and wait, then many hurdles and even the family or the life circumstances may stop him to do so. And in the end, he will be left with just guilt, hopelessness and regret. For, ‘in the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take’.

85 percent people delay the beginning, fear the journey and wait to take the first step. But, sometimes, that ‘later’ becomes ‘never’

No matter, whether it’s as small stuff as applying for a job or as great stuff as starting one’s own business, the first step towards success is to make that very day the ‘Day one’ to initiate and execute your plan.

Readers, ‘The perfect time never comes, it’s we , who have to take the time , make it optimum and take the most out of it.’

Reflection

Narrated by Al-Bara (R.A)

The Prophet (S.A.W) said (on the day of Idal-Adha), “The first thing we will do on this day of ours, is to offer the (‘Id) prayer and then return to slaughter the sacrifice. Whoever does so, he acted according to our Sunna (tradition), and whoever slaughtered (the sacrifice) before the prayer, what he offered was just meat he presented to his family, and that will not be considered as Nusak (sacrifice).” (On hearing that) Abu Burda bin Niyar got up, for he had slaughtered the sacrifice before the prayer, and said, “I have got a six month old ram.” The Prophet said, ‘Slaughter it (as a sacrifice) but it will not be sufficient for any-one else (as a sacrifice after you). Al-Bara’ added: The Prophet said, “Whoever slaughtered (the sacrifice) after the prayer, he slaughtered it at the right time and followed the tradition of the Muslims.”
