I was quite impressed by the writer’s love for cats in the story “The immaculate cat” (Nov 10). Another thing that really impressed me is the writer’s cats are all stray cats - the ones who are despised and thrown away mercilessly. What I have seen is people buy cats or other pets on the basis of their looks. The cat has to be cute, fluffy, and velvety; it should be Siamese breed or Persian breed; and there are colour preferences, too. Pets are just a luxury for them and I don’t think they really care for them. Nobody wants to own these poor stray cats; many say they are evil, wild and can’t be tamed.
I think you should also publish an article on how to take care of pets.

The article “Why complain” by Aruba Khurram (Nov 10) was of course an eye-opener. Men dominate in our society, and women are considered merely homemakers. They are often criticized by strangers when they go out, on streets and in malls.
But, it’s not only men who are at fault. If women wear modest clothes and don’t dress like actresses, not a single man would catcall them in the streets; they would not become the “point of consideration”.

I really like “Trust Us” section in your magazine. People share their genuine problems that others can also face in their life, so anybody can find Guru’s advice helpful.
I felt disappointed after not seeing my poem “Sleep” this Friday. I think it is worth publishing. Don’t know why you only publish poems of familiar writers and don’t give chance to others.
All poems must be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. The person in charge of that page is responsible for selecting poems. Hope you understand.
Hackschool Project by Iqra Asad was as usual cool. The story is so engrossing that I read it till the end and was like, “oh, is that all!” I think it should be a twice a month thing. Waiting for a whole month is not good at all. Just one piece of advice, or may be request, set a challenge which the Moin children cannot surmount. Let their parents discover they are in a pickle and help them out. Just an idea!

I have been a silent reader of your magazine for quite a long time. I must say Us magazine holds a very distinctive position in the print media. And it has been providing information and entertainment to the youth in a very profound way. I would like to contribute to the “Poets Corner”.
How can I send my poems? Please guide.
Yumna, send your poems to email@example.com.
Narrated by Abu Huraira (R.A)
Allah’s Apostle (S.A.W) said, “While a man was walking, he felt thirsty and went down a well and drank water from it. On coming out of it, he saw a dog panting and eating mud because of excessive thirst. The man said, ‘This (dog) is suffering from the same problem as that of mine. So, he (went down the well) filled his shoe with water, caught hold of it with his teeth and climbed up and watered the dog. Allah thanked him for his (good) deed and forgave him.” The people asked, “O Allah’s Apostle (S.A.W)! Is there a reward for us in serving (the) animals?” He replied, “Yes, there is a reward for serving any animate.
