Govt increases POL prices


ISLAMABAD: The government on Thursday increased the prices of petroleum products for the month of December 2017.

According to an official statement, the new petrol price has been set at Rs77.47 per litre after an increase of Rs1.48 per litre.

The prices of high-speed diesel (HSD) have been set at Rs 95.85 after an increase of Rs 1.36 per litre, prices of light-diesel oil (LDO) was increased by Rs 3.12 to be sold at Rs 52 per litre. Whereas the price of kerosene reached at Rs 57.58 after an increase of Rs 4.39.

The decision, the statement claimed, was made by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

On Wednesday, The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) proposed to the government to increase prices of petrol by Rs1.48/litre, kerosene oil by Rs15.35/litre and light diesel oil by Rs13.15/litre for December.
